LAKE NAKURU

Lake Nakuru is part of the lakes that are found in the rift valley. The lake is found in Nakuru and it is part of the Nakuru national park. The lake is of saline nature that is very popular for the big numbers of pink flamingoes that flock the lake to feed on the Algae. the lake give u the opportunity to also film the wildlife in the parks like hippos, buffaloes, impalas, zebras and so much more

LAKE BOGORIA

This is a saline alkaline lake that is found in baringo county. The lake is popular for the big numbers of lesser flamingoes that usually feed in the lake. The lake is also part of the lake bogoria national reserve  where you can be able to film a variety of wildlife.

LAKE NAIVASHA

Located in nakuru country, the freshwater lake is part of the great rift valley lakes. The lake is very popular for its flamingoes and the big numbers of hippos. Thousands of flamingoes and hippos can be filmed here. The lake is also close to hells gate national park

LAKE BARINGO

Located in west central Kenya. The freshwater lake is fed by rivers known as perkerra, molo and ol Arabel. The lake has fish species and bird species such as flamingoes, eagles, kingfishers and many more. The lake is also part of the lake baringo national park.

LAKE TURKANA

This alkaline desert lake is located in the northern part of Kenya and part of it is in Ethiopia. The lake is known to be the largest permanet desert lake in the world. the lake runs through the turkana national parks where u will find sibiloi national park, central and South Island Park. The parks are majorly known for having Nile crocodiles.

LAKE MAGADI

Found in the southern part of kenya and part of it is in Northern Tanzania as lake Natron. The lake is seasonal and full during rainy days and composed of soda during the dry days. The lake is a breeding ground for the lesser flamingos. Human activities of mining salt and making soda ash are harming the lake and it is expected to go extinct if no conservation measures are out in place.

LAKE VICTORIA

Fresh water lake shared by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The lake is a big hub for fish species. most popular for the Nile perch and tilapia. The lake is also a home to the nile crocodiles. The lake is also known for having a number of islands and also several ports that include Kisumu port in Kenya.

LAKE ELMENTAITA

The lake is situated between lake Turkana and lake Naivasha. The Salt Lake is famous for being a breed ground for the lesser flamingoes and greater flamingoes. The shorelines of the lake are part of the soysambu conservancy where you can find leopards, giraffes, zebras, elands and much more.

RWANDA

LAKE KIVU

The lake is located on the border of Rwanda and DRC. It is a part of the African great lakes. The lake has beaches such as isunga beach, cyangugu beach and many more. The lake is a good spot for water sports. The lake is also a home to several fish and waterbird species.

LAKE MUHAZI

Located in the eastern side of Rwanda, it is a shallow valley lake. the lake is convenient for boat cruises, fishing activities. the lake is surrounded by several villages that can be visited to see how they have benefited from the lake.

LAKE RUHONDO

Located in Musanze district of Rwanda, the lake is situated in the base of Karisimbi Mountain and known to be a twin lake of Lake Bulera. The islands on this lake include bishosho, cuza and others. the lake is also good for activities like boat cruises, fishing and watersports.

LAKE IHEMA

The largest lake in Rwanda . The lake is situated in the south part of Akagera national park. It gets its water from river Akagera. The lake can be filmed together with the wildlife in the park. The lake is majorly known for having hippos and crocodiles.

LAKE BULERA

Located in Musanze. the lake is connected to lake Ruhondo at the base of the mount muhavura . it is the second largest lake in Rwanda. The lake is a fishing hub due to the presence of several fish species. the lake has islands and communities that can be visited and also filmed.

TANZANIA

LAKE TANGANYIKA

This is the biggest lake in Tanzania. The lake is longest lake and second largest freshwater lake in the whole world. The lake is shared by Burundi, Zambia, Democratic republic of Congo and the largest part is in Tanzania. Several activities can be filmed on this lake and these include boat cruises, watersports, fishing activities and the community lifestyle of the locals who stay around the lake.

LAKE VICTORIA

The lake is shared by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The lake has several beaches where people go to relax and enjoy water sport activities the lake is also a home to several islands. The lake is a great hub for huma activities especially fishing. There are trading ports that are on the lake and these are known as port Mwanza, port Musoma and port Bukoba.

LAKE AMBOSELI

The lake is shared by Tanzania and Kenya. This is a seasonal lake that is of alkaline nature. The lake is usually dry and with salt residue. The lake is one of the major attractions in the Amboseli national reserve. the lake is a great place for several birds and wildlife that sunbath by its shores.

LAKE NATRON

Lake Natron is a salty lake that is found in the Arusha district of Tanzania. The lake is majorly known for the flamingoes that feed on the minerals in the lake. The lake is great for scenic shoots and is amazing for photographs.

LAKE MANYARA

The alkaline lake is found in the Lake Manyara national park. It is a part of the lakes that are found in the rift valley. The lake is shallow and usually shrinks in the dry season. The lake is a drinking spot for several wildlife species that include hippos, crocodiles, elephants, zebras and so much more. The Park is famously known for the tree climbing lions.

LAKE BURIGI

The lake is found in the northern region of Tanzania. The lake is narrow and seems like a river. The lake has parts of it in the Burigi reserve where most animals are seen drinking water. Just like any other lake, boat cruises can be done here and other water activities.

UGANDA

LAKE VICTORIA

This is the largest freshest water of Uganda. The lake is shared by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The lake has several beaches where people go to relax and enjoy water sport activities the lake is also a home to several islands such as the sese and Kalangala islands. The lake is a great hub for huma activities especially fishing.

LAKE BUNYONYI

Found in southwestern Uganda In kabale district. The lake is known to be apart of the three small lakes including Mulehe and Mutanda and it is the largest. Lake Bunyonyi is known to be the second deepest lake in Africa with estimated at 900metres. The lake has several islands and the most famous one is the Akampene island locally known as the punishment island which was used to punish grils who got pregnant before marriage. The other islands include Bwama and Njuyera known as Sharps Island. The lake is great for boat cruises and other adventurous activities

LAKE ALBERT

Lake albert is shared by Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo. The lake belongs to the great lakes category and is the second largest. The lake has the semiliki and Nile River following to it. The lake holds second place in having fish. The community highly depends on fishing activities. The water from the lake also enables the communities to practice subsistence farming. Oil was discovered in lake albert and activities of its exploitation began and this has played a big role in affecting the communities around

LAKE KATWE

It is found in the western region of Uganda; the lake is very popular for the salt mining and production that takes place there. The lake produces rock salt which is extracted by the people and then used for salt production.

LAKE EDWARD

Lake Edward is one of the small African great lakes. The lake is close to lake George and are connected by the Kazinga chanel. The lake is shared by Uganda and Deocratic republic of Congo. The lake is in the surroundings of the Virunga national park and queen Elizabeth national park making it one of the places where wildlife can be filmed drinking water. You can look out for corodiles, hippos and many more. The lake also has several fish species making it a fishing hub for the locals.

LAKE GEORGE

A shallow lake located In the western part of Uganda and is in the rift valley. The lake is very small compared to the other great African lakes. the lake has 3 small islands known as Akika, Iranqara and kankurange. The lake is connected to Lake Edward through the Kazinga channel. the lake has grasslanda on its ends and several wildlife species are found here.

LAKE KYOGA

Lake Kyoga is a big shallow lake located in the central region of the country. The lake is of a swampy and shallow nature. The lake is poured into by the river Nile. the lake is known to have several Nile crocodiles and fish species. the lake is close to the nyero rock painting which is known for its ancient art paintings.

ZIMBABWE

LAKE KARIBA

This lake is known to be the largest artificial lake in the world. The lake is shared by Zimbabwe and Zambia. The lake gets its volumes of water from the outpower of the Kariba dam that was set up on the zambezi river. The matusadona national park is found at the shores of the lake and this gives you an opportunity to film wildlife

LAKE CHIVERO

This is a reservoir that was created on the river Manyame. This lake is the main water source for the city of Harare. The lake is a part of the lake chivero recreational park which is a good place to film rhinos.  the lake is close to the lion and cheetah park, wild is life and zen trust, kiumbi bird park and sanke world.

LAKE MUTIRIKWI

Formerly known as lake kyle. the lake gets its water from several rivers but majorly the mutirikwi.The lake is part of the lake Mutirikwi recreational park that has hippos, waterbucks, leopards, klipspringer and many others. The lake is also a home to several species including the tiger fish

ZAMBIA

LAKE KARIBA

This lake is known as the world’s largest artificial lake. It was created as a reservoir on the Zambezi River. This lake came into existence after the construction of the Kariba dam. the lake is known to have its shore lines in some national parks and reserves where one can film wildlife. Other activities like boat riding and cruises can also be done on this lake.

LAKE BANGWEULU

The word Bangwelu is directly translated as the place where the sky meets. The lake is part of a system of wetlands that is made up of swamps and rivers and floodplains. The lake is a great fishing spot and several fishermen are always camped on the lake. The lake is also known for having white sand beaches.

LAKE TANGANYIKA

The lake is longest lake and second largest freshwater lake in the whole world. The lake is shared by Zambia, Burundi, Democratic republic of Congo and the largest part is in Tanzania. Several activities can be filmed on this lake and these include boat cruises, watersports, fishing activities and the community lifestyle of the locals who stay around the lake.

LAKE KASIBA

This is a small deep lake that is part of the sunken lakes in the district of Luanshya. The sunken lakes were formed in limestone and are surrounded by a forest. The lake also has legends attached to it about curses and for this reason very few human activities are done here

LAKE MWERU

The lake is located is shared by Zambia and the Democratic republic of Congo.  The lake has several fish species and has boosted the fishing industry in the area. The lake is surrounded by several villages who have made a living from the lake.

ISHIBA NGANDO

The lake is situated between river chambeshi and river Luangwa. The lake Is known for having many crocodiles. It is close to Ichishiba Ngandu nature reserve that has several wildlife species. The lake is also close to North Luangwa national park.
